Project Description

Acupuncture is part of the whole healthcare system rooted in Chinese philosophy and Chinese medicine theories. Chinese have a few thousand years’ history of using acupuncture to treat illness and maintain good health. It is believed in Chinese medicine theory that vital energy (Qi) is fundamental in human health and Qi supports our body and maintains our health through meridian system. A free flow of healthy qi is the basis of good health. We feel ill when the body is invaded by unhealthy qi or if the qi is in disharmony (stagnant, deficient, rebellious, etc.). Acupuncture is a treatment of which practitioners use sterilized needles to stimulate certain sensitive part along the energy meridians (acupuncture points) in order to regulate the quality and movement of qi.

Acupuncture has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It is used for treating wide ranges of disorders, including:

  • Acupuncture for muscular-skeletal disorders: lower back pain (including sciatica), tennis elbow, frozen shoulders, pain in knees and hips, sports injury, etc.

  • Acupuncture for emotional or nervous system disorders: anxiety, stress, panic attack and insomnia

  • Acupuncture for digestive system disorders: irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), abdominal distension (bloating), abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, and weight problems (including losing weight).

  • Acupuncture in Hove for gynecological and obstetric disorders: Irregular period, painful period, premenstrual syndrome (PMT or PMS), morning sickness in pregnancy, bridge baby, delayed labour, etc.

  • Acupuncture for neurological disorders: headache, migraine, vertigo, tinnitus, and facial paralysis.

  • Acupuncture for male and female fertility issues.

  • Acupuncture in Hove for addictions: smoking, alcohol, drugs, or even Chocolate!

MEET OUR PRACTITIONER

Wu Di
Wu DiQualified and registered acupuncture

As the main practitioner of the clinic, I obtained my PhD and started my first career as a medicinal chemist. Having worked as a research scientist on anti-oxidant and Parkinson’s disease in Cambridge, it was the beauty of the Chinese philosophy and Chinese medicine that attracted me to make a life-changing decision.

With strong family background of Chinese medicine and deeply rooted belief of Chinese philosophy, it has been a great joy to study Chinese medicine following different masters and mentors. Solid knowledge and years of experience on chemical drugs has (unexpectedly) offered an important and unique angle to view the human health from both conventional medicine and Chinese medicine.

As a fully qualified practitioner of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and massage, I am the full member of British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (ATCM). All my treatments are fully insured.
If we do not have knowledge, we can learn; if we do not have qualification, we can get one, but what is really unique and makes a practitioner different from others is the heart he gives to his patients.

OUR PATIENTS SAY

I have found the care and treatment at Herbs Kingdom to be remarkable. I have visited a lot of acupuncturists over the years, but Dr Wu at Herbs Kingdom has been the most help of all. It is a wonderful treatment centre and I am very happy to share my endorsement with all. (September 2014)

(LG)

I have seen Wu Di for many things over a number of years, and have always been cured without the use of drugs (just natural herbs). Although not the quick fix that Western Medicine is, it does take more time, but the results are better, i.e. the cause is cured, not just the symptoms. The latest saga was a hurt knee from skiing (splits a ten year old would be proud of) Was very sore and in a knee brace when I first saw Wu Di and nearly skipped out after the first round of acupuncture. I have seen him once a week, then once a fortnight, and last Sunday managed to run for an hour, and now been given the all clear, and can’t recommend Wu Di highly enough! Thanks Wu Di your great! AS

Dr Wu has helped us through his meticulous and caring approach where the health service has been unable to deal with our problems. His skills both with herbal treatments and acupuncture / massage are to be commended. (September 2014)
